5-MeO-DiPT, also known colloquially as Foxy and Foxy Methoxy, is a Psychedelic drug of the tryptamine class. It was first synthesized in the mid-1970s by Alexander Shulgin and a detailed report was included in his 1997 book TiHKAL (Tryptamines I Have Known And Loved).

Although limited research has been conducted on the substance, anecdotal reports indicate that it lacks the typical hallucinogenic properties found in other, more popular, tryptamines such as Mescaline and LSD. Instead, it is known for its highly stimulating and entactogenic effects, with many users reporting an increase in libido and heightened sexual experiences.

It is important to note that 5-MeO-DiPT has not been approved for human consumption and is available only as a research chemical.

5-MeO-DiPT (5-Methoxy-N,N-diisopropyltryptamine) is a tryptamine derivative and shares many chemical properties with other Hallucinogenic tryptamines such as psilocybin, bufotenine, and dimethyltryptamine; it is the N-substituted diisopropyl homolog of 5-MeO-MiPT.

Like all tryptamines, 5-MeO-DiPT has a core structure made up of a bicyclic indole heterocycle, which is in turn attached to an amino group on the R4 position. It also contains a methoxy group at its R5 position, from which it draws its namesake.

The exact mechanism by which 5-MeO-DiPT causes psychedelic experiences is not fully understood, but many researchers believe it has to do with its 5-HT2A receptor antagonism, effects [1]

Hallucinations And Visual Distortions: 5-MeO-DiPT is not known for inducing high-level hallucinatory effects on users the same way other tryptamines, such as LSD or Mescaline, do. Anecdotal reports indicate that the visual distortions are similar in nature to those caused by MDMA.
